I Woke Up To Insults And Abuses On Me And My Family Because I Said I’m Not “Obidient” – Femi Kuti

Prominent Nigerian veteran singer and human rights activist, Femi Kuti has in a viral video responded to some Peter Obi supporters who abused and insulted him and his family over his comment about their Obidient movement.

In the video he shared on his social media page, Mr. Femi lamented that he woke up to insults and abuses and all kinds of threats upon him and his family simply because he said he cannot be Obidient.

Note that Obidient is the campaign tag for Peter Obi supporters.

Not only that he cannot be Obidient, but he also agreed to have called the Obidients, zombies. Giving reasons for his rejection of the campaign tag, Mr. Femi mentioned that he is too angry to be Obidient. He explained that the meaning of Obidient is not a thing he will accept as a Nigerian following all that the system has done to his family.

He recalled how his family was tortured by past administrations, how his father’s house was burnt, and that his family is still recovering from the trauma, so he cannot be Obidient. To him, he said to be Obidient means to become a Zombie, whatever you are told, you do it without asking questions, and that he is not ready for such subjections from anybody, anymore.
